Our Story
The Julius Family
Jim-- dad
Born and raised in the mountains of Western Colorado, Jim spent his early years farming and running Sheep and Cattle around Rifle. His family moved to Eastern Colorado in the mid 90's and continued farming and ranching. After marrying Jess in 2004, He worked in the oilfield for several years before starting a livestock hauling company. Since 2011 he's been hauling livestock and working cattle feedlots. We all enjoy splitting our time between the mountains and plains.
Jess- mom
Jess grew up in DeBeque, Co. Spending most of her summers in Lawrence, KS. on her grandparents farm. Her grandfather is an avid horseman. He kept her supplied with age appropriate training projects, her first one at age 8. She has always loved horses and Agriculture, knowing she would make it a part of her adult life.
Clayton
The oldest of the 6, He has been many things in his 18 years. Baby sitter, Head cowboy, colt starter, truck driver, welder, hunter, to name a few. He started breaking colts at 8 years old, and hasn't looked back. At 12 he was riding bulls. Although he had much success, his bullriding career ended at age fourteen. After having been on over 70 head, he decided to concentrate on horses. ( to his mothers delight) He now rides saddle bronc, is an excellent farrier. He has also just bought his first Cabover Truck. He will be hauling hay and cattle to get his start!
Nate
Number 2 in the bunch, Nate is our go to mechanic. He can fix almost anything, AND loves it. Dirtbikes are as natural to him as the horses are to the other kids. He always has a good attitude and is always helping wherever we need it. Nate is also an aspiring pilot! He has his student license, now pursuing his private license. The sky is really the limit for him. Like Clayton and Jim, Nate has his own Cabover Truck and will be doing some local hauling.
Charlie is number 3. His heart is as big as his smile. He is our middle man and an excellent trainer. The horses all love his gentle spirit, he makes friends with them all. Charlie loves checking cattle on his horses or chasing a rogue coyote across a pasture. Like his oldest brother, he is an aspiring Saddle Bronc rider and team roper.
Our only girl, Laurel, is a perfect blend of Leather and Lace. She has a passion for Barrels and is trying her hand at Breakaway. Her natural ability to teach the horses shows when she rides. They all love to work for her with soft faces and quiet minds. They dance off her leg and try to always do what she's asking. Her newest love is a 4 year old filly off the track named Diva, watch for them to take over the rodeo world!
